​A 16-year-old boy is accused of killing his parents, sister and a family friend inside his parents’ home on New Year’s Eve, officials said Monday.

The teenage boy, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, is still in custody and is being held on four counts of murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He could be charged with an adult case because of the complexity of the incident. 

His father, Steven Kologi, 44; including mother, Linda Kologi, 42; sister, Brittany Kologi, 18; and family acquaintance, Mary Schultz,70 , were found dead at the scene  after a 911 call reported shots fired at the residence.

Both the boy’s grandfather and brother were able to leave the house without any injury.

Officials are yet to determine the motives of the boy’s acts.

 The boy should be making his first court appearance before a judge on Tuesday.
