President Trump’s first tweet of 2018 where he accused the Pakistan of taking billions of dollars in U.S. aid while continuing to harbor militants. This made Pakistan react fiercely.
Trump’s tweet read:

“The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years”.

He also added:

“and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!”

Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary ,Tehmina Janjua, called for the U.S. Ambassador, David Hale, to reproach about the tweet.

The foreign minister said:

“We have already told the U.S. that we will not do more, so Trump’s ‘no more’ does not hold any importance”.

“Trump is disappointed at the U.S. defeat in Afghanistan and that is the only reason he is flinging accusations at Pakistan.”
